Chicago – I really don’t know what to think of it. I was there last week for a day, well actually for 17 hours to be exact. I have never had enough time in this city to truly know its character. Most of my visits are “work – hotel – fly” sort of ones. People who live there seem to love it; its a city with a mid western warm feeling they say. Awfully cold in the winter. Lake Michigan looks gorgeous in the summer. The magnificent mile has tones of shopping. Just don’t know if its for me. I am more of a grimy, grungy city girl. Anyways, I am going back in a couple of weeks – plan on spending the weekend there; hope to form an opinion then (stay tuned). If you have any reccomendations let me know !

Baby, I love the black and white shot! My grimy, grungy city girl!! :-)
I love Chicago! I was there for 2 days after September 11th (THE one), to surprise Gulsh on her birthday, and I walked down Michigan Avenue. The only song that played in my head on repeat was Sinatra's -- along with major involuntary finger-snapping. I kept expecting men in fedoras to jump out at me with guns, especially by the Sun building.
I think the black and white shot you captured more than encompasses how I felt when I was there. It's most definitely my kind of town. (and grungy city girl, yours too!) To me, it's only 2nd to New York as a truly American immigrant settler city.
I can't WAIT to see what you find through your lens when you go back there
Food related suggestion - Rick Bayless' Frontera Grill!
As usual, beautiful pictures. Love the color vs the b&w combination theme. A walk along the Michigan Ave is highly recommended and you can do some window shopping while doing that. Kind of a 5th Ave experience.
amazing shot!!! Where was it. P.S. I love Chicago! My favourite people watching place.
Thanks for the comments :) I took the B&W shot at Michigan ave - I had 10 mins before my meeting and quickly took some shots as I was walking to the office from my hotel. The color one is of the W - Lakeshore.
